Twitter vs Tumblr...what's your say?

Tumblr is a site where bloggers express themselves through pictures, words and music and to find a niche of people out there who relate to them. The types of blogs are endless, ranging from review blogs to quote blogs to advice blogs to food blogs, to blogs that dedicated to the various book and movie fandoms–there is a community for everyone. While an individual might have to change or censor themselves to satisfy their friends on facebook, the tumblr community is open to everyone, and opinions and interests are expressed freely. The general atmosphere of tumblr is warm and inviting, but most users who make their way to the site feel strongly about their opinions. While facebook and twitter are associated directly with the users’ name, tumblr is mainly anonymous, and people can talk as vehemently toward other users and about their views as they want without consequence.
Twitter is all about direct access to what people are doing, when they are doing it and what they think about it. This site is similar to the status feature on Facebook, only at high speed and much less thought-provoking. Twitter began as a service for regular people to have access to the thoughts, interests and photos of their favorite celebrities. Twitter can sufficiently satisfy the creeper in everyone and is addicting to sat the least. Twitter was the beginning of the hashtag phenomenon, which until recently was the arbitrary symbol on the keyboard. A tweeter with a mass number of followers can influence people to believe just about anything they want. That much power in the hands of Justin Bieber is a terrifying thing. Now, twitter has seen an influx of Average Joes, as the typical teenager has gotten involved. The point is 24-hour instant-access to everything you want to know about anybody. Whether it is a favorite actor or a best friend, or just a funny tweeter, their is immediate access to everything on their mind.
Facebook dominates the social media aspect of these three sites. With a service for everybody, including status updates, photo uploading, commenting and even some game apps, anyone can find something that draws them to Facebook. Unfortunately, as human nature inspiress people to constantly change, interest in Facebook has drastically decreased lately. There has been a mass exodus to Twitter and other sites where the pace is faster and users can see more, read more and experience more. Facebook caters mostly to those who want to see and know about the lives of others, but the constant site remodels and upgrades have certainly been pushing their users away. With the confusing new ‘Facebook Timeline’, the deal is almost sealed on the downfall of Facebook-style social media.

If in terms of the popularity, Twitter has an edge. A lot of people knows or heard of twitter rather than tumblr. But Tumblr caters you to post longer lines of thoughts rather than twitter, and in terms of creativity, Tumblr is on top of Twitter. Well, that’s just for me. And the answer to the question, which is better between the two? It’s really just up to you, you should never listen to what others say. You should use the one where you feel comfortable and secured.

While
Tumblr A feature rich and free blog hosting platform offering professional and fully customizable templates, bookmarklets, photos, mobile apps, and social network ...
but for me Twitter..You Know what..more popular than tumblr..

twitter and tumbler
i don't actually know all about this two term...
but as i know twitter has its so called benefits of using it..and this are the following benefits:

-Twitter doesn’t change it’s site design and functionality every other day.
-Even if Twitter did change it up every other day, it wouldn’t matter, because there are several excellent
-Twitter dashboards available that allow you to bypass the platform altogether.

Borata. . .
I think i would choose both cause they serve there purpose depending on the user and how users will used it as a tool to express themselves. . .
We cannot say either one is most helpful, needed, or used by users cause people used either the two with respect to their mood, feelings, and perspective at the moment.

twitter vs tumbler both of them is a nice site, twitter is more on social networking while tumbler is more on photo and video. I think its up to where to choice, if you want more on photos then choose tumbler and if you like social networking then choose twitter.

-In my honest opinion, criticism is the first step towards self growth and understanding. As I see it, anyone, anywhere would say “the customer comes first” and this is no different. Readers will certainly accept something written like this, but the better your writing, the better you represent yourself.

Thanks for this post though. Personally, I would just use both TWITTER and TUMBLER, as nowadays its easy to post to both of them. Only tell your friends about one or the other, and then you’ve got essentially two channels. One for professional posts, one for casual posts, and both for everything in-between

Aldwin Sacan:

I think tumblr is much better than twitter in terms of its usage and what the user can do, although twitter had gain its popularity over time since lots of "authentic" celebrities are joining this social network, other user got interested and join the website to "connect" with their so-called "celebrity" friend/s. popularity wise, twitter wins but usage? i think i would prefer tumblr.

secondly, i think if you gonna blog something its very helpful if the website offers or would allow u to attach multimedia files, that way your reader or follower will not just be bored by simply looking or reading texts that you had written.
